When a patient seeks chiropractic health care and I accept a patient for such care, it is essential for both to be working for the same objective. Chiropractic has only one goal. It is important that each patient understand both the objective and the method that will be used to attain it. This will prevent any confusion or dissapointment.
Adjustment: The adjustment is the specific application of forces to facilitate the body's correction of the vertebral subluxation. My chiropractic method of correction is by specific adjustments of the spine.
Health: The state of optimal, physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Vertebral Subluxation: A misalignment of one or more of the 24 vertebrae in the spinal column which causes alteration of nerve function and interference to the transmission of mental impulses, resulting in a lessening of the body's innate ability to express its maximum health potential.
I do not offer to diagnose or treat any disease. I only offer to diagnose either vertebral subluxations or neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. However, if during the course of a spinal examination I encounter non-chiropractic or unusual feelings, I will advise you. If you desire advice, diagnosis or treatment for those findings, I will recommend that you seek the services of another healthcare provider.
Chiropractic is for everyone. Our pratice consists of people of all ages. Not very long ago, the only time a man or woman sought care from a chiropractor was when traditional medical treatments did not relieve the symptoms of an injury due to an accident or sports activity. Lay people didn't quite know how chiropractors did it, but they were the "go-to" healthcare practitioner when medications didn't work or to avoid surgery. Chiropractic now is recognized as a naturally based approach to caring for injuries and anomalies affecting the back, neck limbs and indeed the entire body. Dr. Schulman and his colleagues in the profession treat not only injured adults but now also offer preventative treatments and wellcare for young children through adolescence. In addition, palliative care is provided for the growing number of Baby Boomers and older adults who want to enjoy their golden years with less pain or discomfort associated with aging and at the same time keeping their mobility intact. Dr. Schulman is very proud and honored to see generations of families including kids, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.
